Using it for 5 months

Was working great for the first five months. After, the soap bar residue started to stick on the dish. I used a little brush to clean under my nails and ran it underwater to try to clean off the residue and that helped but it started to damage the highly porous gentle surface so it looks like it is pitted. Not sure how many more times I can do that before it is totally ruined but overall I do like this dish. I’m wondering if next time maybe it could be a little bit thicker that way it has a longer lifespan if this is something I have to clean regularly
